Delhi, 15 June (H.S.): The Department of Land Resources (DoLR), Ministry of Rural Development, Government of India, will commence the second batch of Phase 2 of the NAKSHA capacity-building program on 16th June , involving four Centres of Excellence (CoEs) nationwide. The first phase successfully trained 160 Master Trainers by May 2025 at NIGST, Hyderabad, and subsequently 151 ULB officers from 2nd to 7th June 2025 across five CoEs. This upcoming training session, inaugurated virtually by Shri Manoj Joshi on 16th June 2025 at 10:00 A.M., will include 128 ULB-level and district officers nominated from approximately 74 ULBs. They will receive one week of practical training in modern geospatial technologies for urban property surveys at YASHADA (Pune), Northeast Region CoE (Guwahati), MGSIPA (Chandigarh), and ATI (Mysuru).

The curriculum encompasses the program framework, GNSS and ETS-based surveying, Web-GIS applications, land parcel mapping, and legal-administrative aspects of land surveys, aiming to enhance the capabilities of ULB officers and field staff for high-accuracy urban land surveys. The NAKSHA program addresses the urgent need for accessible land records, crucial as India's urban population is projected to surpass 600 million by 2031, and is implemented in collaboration with various partners across 157 ULBs in 27 states and 3 Union Territories.
