New Delhi, June 14(HS): Tata-led Air India announced potential delays for its long-haul flights due to safety inspections on Boeing 787 aircraft, following orders from the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA). Inspections of nine planes have already been completed, and the airline is working on a one-time safety inspection directive applicable to its entire Boeing 787 fleet. Air India aims to finalize inspections on the remaining 24 planes within the regulator's specified timeframe. Consequently, longer travel times and possible delays are expected on certain long-haul routes, especially at airports with operational curfews. Customers will be notified of any delays and are encouraged to check flight status on Air India's website before heading to the airport. Additionally, the airline is offering refunds or complimentary rescheduling options for those affected by disruptions. Furthermore, Civil Aviation Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia announced comprehensive monitoring of all 34 Boeing 787s in India.
