Sadhotra slams BJP for exploiting Jammu youth over NT recruitment process

Jammu, 13 June (H.S.): National Conference (NC) additional general secretary and former minister Ajay Kumar Sadhotra today launched a scathing attack on the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), accusing it of systematically betraying the unemployed youth of Jammu and Kashmir.

Referring to the ongoing protests over the delayed recruitment process for Naib Tehsildar (NT) posts, Sadhotra termed the BJP’s handling of the matter as “mischievous and obstructive,” aimed at denying educated youth their right to employment.

In a strongly worded statement, Sadhotra questioned the credibility of the “double engine” government, which has BJP in power both at the Centre and had earlier backed the government in the erstwhile state. He accused the party of failing to implement any meaningful course correction despite being in power for the past decade.

“If the BJP was genuinely committed to employment and transparency, why did it fail to fulfill the legitimate aspirations of job seekers? Why wasn’t a time-bound, transparent recruitment process initiated, especially for crucial posts like Naib Tehsildar?” he asked.

He alleged that the BJP had consistently used recruitment drives as political tools during elections, only to abandon them later, leaving aspirants in a state of limbo without clear timelines or accountability. Sadhotra said that the BJP had turned youth into mere vote banks and converted confusion and policy inconsistency into a norm.

Recalling the NC-led governments, he said that recruitments were conducted regularly and transparently in the past, with no manipulation of the hopes of educated youth. He contrasted this with the current scenario, highlighting the frequent exam cancellations, re-advertisements, and scams, including the Sub-Inspector Police recruitment, under BJP rule.
