Jammu, 13 June (H.S.): Newly elected president of Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCI), Jammu, Arun Gupta today addressed the media persons at the Chamber House and strongly projected the issues of traders.
In his brief address Gupta assured the members for the redressal of their grievances. He further said that a Chamber has been raising interests of Trade and Industry. “During our last tenure we have highlighted various issues but still there are so many issues which require special attention like Industrial package for the existing Industry and turnover incentives for Industry”, he said.
“To decongest the old city we request that Government should develop new commercial markets. The issues relating to lease properties should be sorted out at the earliest and the ongoing projects like River Tawi Front, Artificial Lake etc should be completed in a time bound manner “, Gupta said.
CCI chief said,” As a responsible organization Chamber of Commerce & Industry shall be guarding and fighting for the cause of Jammu and we shall try our best to make Jammu Province a tourist hub.”
While thanking the members for electing him as president of Chamber of Commerce & Industry for the 3rd consecutive term, he solicited the support and cooperation of all the worthy members for making Chamber of Commerce & Industry strong, effective and role model for others.
Gupta pointed out that in the recent notification for filling the vacancies of Naib Tehsildar, Urdu has been made mandatory which is discriminatory especially with the educated youth of Jammu. He said that when all the revenue records have been digitalized in English, Urdu and Hindi why Urdu has been made mandatory. He requested the Government to rectify this notification at the earliest.
Before concluding Arun Gupta expressed sincere gratitude to the Election President Shiv Partap Gupta, Chief Election Observer Prithvi Raj Gupta and Members of the Election Committee Manmohan Singh, Vijay Gupta and Kulbhushan Gupta (Manu) for conducting the peaceful, fair and orderly elections.
