Mumbai, 10 June (HS): The Brihan-Mumbai
Municipal Corporation has hired 10 vehicle-mounted pumps to drain out stagnant
water in low-lying areas during monsoon. Every vehicle will have two pumps with
a capacity to drain out 250 Cubic meters of water per hour. The vehicle-mounted
pumps have been procured for the first time, and personnel have been deputed on each vehicle
for a quick response in case of waterlogging.
A total of 514 sites have been identified
where waterlogging is common. Additional Municipal Commissioner (Projects)
Abhijit Bangar issued instructions to the personnel from the civic
administration. The vehicles with pumps mounted have been hired for four years,
from 2025 to 2028.
The personnel will be available round the
clock.
