Delhi, 1 June (H.S.): Union Minister of Commerce and Industry, Piyush Goyal, began a three-day official visit to France on 1st June 2025, as part of a broader itinerary in France and Italy from 1–5 June 2025. This visit emphasizes India’s dedication to enhancing strategic and economic relationships with key European partners and promoting a collective vision for sustainable global growth.
In France, Piyush Goyal will meet with French Ministers like Mr. Eric Lombard, Minister of Economy, and Mr. Laurent Saint-Martin, Minister of Trade, focusing on bolstering Indo-French economic ties and discovering new trade and investment opportunities. The agenda includes high-level discussions with major French firms like Vicat, Total Energies, L’Oréal, Renault, Valeo, EDF, and ATR, along with the India-France Business Round Table and the India-France CEO Forum, promoting industry dialogue.
The Minister will also attend the informal gathering of WTO Ministers during the OECD Ministerial Council Meeting to discuss key multilateral trade matters, representing India's perspectives and priorities.
Furthermore, several high-level bilateral meetings are scheduled with international counterparts, including the UK’s Secretary of State, Singapore’s Deputy Prime Minister, and Saudi Arabia’s Commerce Minister, among others, to advance economic cooperation and foster partnerships. Meetings with EU officials will also occur, showcasing India’s continued commitment to strengthen bilateral and multilateral relationships in global trade and investment, before moving on to Italy for the next phase of his visit.
