Itanagar, 31 May (HS): Seven members of a family killed after their vehicle was swept away in a landslide on Friday evening between Bana and Seppa on National Highway 13 in East Kameng district of Arunachal Pradesh.

A local official said that seven members of a family were travelling from Bana to Seppa in a Brija vehicle. All seven people in the vehicle killed after being hit by a landslide caused by incessant rain. The rescue team that reached the spot has started the work.

State Home Minister Mama Natung expressed deep grief over the death of people in his constituency. He said in a statement, It was very sad to hear about the tragic death of seven people in the landslide on NH-13 between Bana and Seppa. My heartfelt condolences to the bereaved families in this difficult time. The MLA urged citizens to be cautious during the monsoon season and avoid travelling at night, especially in landslide-prone areas. I request everyone to be cautious and avoid travelling at night. My condolences and prayers are with the affected families. May God give peace to the departed souls, he said.
