Bhopal, May 31 (H.S.): On Saturday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi participated in the Mahila Sashaktikaran Maha Sammelan at Jamboori Maidan in Bhopal, commemorating the 300th birth anniversary of Devi Ahilyabai Holkar. At the event, he inaugurated the Indore Metro as well as the Satna and Datia airports. He also unveiled the country's first commemorative ₹300 coin in honor of Devi Ahilyabai, which weighs 35 grams and contains 50% silver, displaying her image on one side. Prime Minister Modi highlighted the reverence associated with her name and acknowledged the challenges she faced while leading her state, emphasizing her commitment to both divine and public service.

He remarked on how the newly launched projects will improve infrastructure, stimulate development, and create jobs in Madhya Pradesh. The Prime Minister noted Devi Ahilyabai's profound role in empowering the underprivileged and preserving India's heritage during a time of turmoil. He praised her efforts in reconstructing temples, including Kashi Vishwanath, and remarked on the significance of discussing women's issues, such as marriage age and property rights, which she championed over 250 years ago.

He cited the establishment of women's protection groups and social reforms to uplift marginalized communities. Devi Ahilyabai's governance model, which prioritized the poorest, initiated various schemes aimed at promoting employment and entrepreneurship, particularly through cottage industries and agricultural advancements. She also created a network of canals and ponds for water conservation.

The Prime Minister accentuated the importance of women's rights, citing the need for property rights and the ability for widows to remarry, showcasing Devi Ahilyabai as a progressive force advocating these reforms in a challenging era. He mentioned the formation of a special women's unit in the Malwa army, countering criticisms from the Western world regarding women's rights in India.

In a bold statement, Prime Minister Modi challenged Pakistan, asserting that India's military response to threats would be decisive. He described Operation Sindoor as the largest successful military operation in India's history, underlining the connection between valor and feminine strength, symbolized by sindoor. He expressed deep reverence for Devi Ahilyabai, acknowledging her substantial impact on nation-building and invoking her blessings for the future.
