New Delhi, May 31 (H.S.): On Saturday, the Bharatiya Janata Party announced Jiwan Gupta as its candidate for the Ludhiana West assembly by-election. Voting will take place on June 19, and the counting of votes and announcement of results will occur on June 23. It is noteworthy that the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) MLA from Ludhiana West, Gurpreet Goggi Bassi, passed away in January, leading to the vacancy of the seat. There will be an interesting contest among AAP's Sanjeev Arora, Congress's Bharat Bhushan Ashu, SAD's Parupkar Singh Ghuman, and BJP's Jeevan Gupta for this seat.
