Baku (Azerbaijan), May 29 (HS): Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif of Pakistan has concluded his visit to Azerbaijan and departed for Tajikistan. During his stay in Azerbaijan, he raised the issue of suspending the decades-old Indus Water Treaty with India. However, he was vague about the reasons for the suspension. He mentioned that India is blaming Pakistan for the recent terrorist attack in Pahalgam but is not providing any evidence.
According to Reports, Shehbaz met with President Ilham Aliyev in Azerbaijan. Aliyev announced a $2 billion investment in Pakistan during a trilateral summit (Pakistan, Turkey, and Azerbaijan). On this occasion, Shehbaz, appearing innocent among his sympathizers, stated that India wants to stop Pakistan's water, which will never be allowed to happen. The water of the Indus is the lifeline of Pakistan.
Shehbaz will stay in Tajikistan for two days. He will hold bilateral meetings with the President there and discuss trade, energy, and investment. It is expected that several agreements will be signed between the two countries.
