Georgetown (Guyana), May 27 (HS): An Indian parliamentary all-party delegation led by Congress MP Shashi Tharoor met Guyana's President Mohammed Irfan Ali to discuss terrorism and the strong ties between India and Guyana. The delegation is informing global leaders about the Pakistan-sponsored terrorist attack in Pahalgam and India's subsequent Operation Sindoor, emphasizing India's commitment to eradicating terrorism. So far, global leaders have shown support for India's anti-terrorism efforts.
President Ali highlighted the extraordinary relations between India and Guyana, citing significant economic partnerships and investment from India. He expressed hopes for increased Indian investment and technology in Guyana's development and affirmed support for India's fight against terrorism. Tharoor shared enjoyable discussions with Guyana's Prime Minister Brigadier Mark Anthony Phillips and noted that the Prime Minister's wife has received entrepreneurial training in India.
In Doha, former Minister V. Muraleedharan, part of another delegation, expressed a unified global stance against terrorism, recalling India's role in counter-terrorism discussions at the Security Council. Biju Janata Dal MP Sasmit Patra addressed the Indian community in Kinshasa, emphasizing that terrorism is a global concern, and underscored that Operation Sindoor has shifted perceptions of India's counter-terrorism stance. In Singapore, JD(U) MP Sanjay Kumar Jha's delegation met with Indian officials, while DMK MP Kanimozhi engaged with Indian expatriates in Slovenia, highlighting the ongoing diplomatic efforts around India's anti-terrorism message.
