London, May 27 (H.S.): Liverpool football club's Premier League victory parade turned chaotic on Monday evening after a car struck pedestrians in the city center, injuring nearly 50 individuals, including children. A 53-year-old man, suspected to be the driver, was arrested near Water Street, shortly after the parade concluded. What began as a celebration quickly shifted to panic as emergency services responded around 6pm. According to the North West ambulance service, 27 people were hospitalized, with two, including a child, sustaining serious injuries, while 20 others were treated on-site. Merseyside police stated the incident was not being investigated as terrorism. Witnesses described scenes of chaos and trauma, as fans celebrated and feared for their safety.

Two men reported that an incident on Water Street lasted between 20 and 30 seconds. St John ambulance workers quickly arrived to treat several injured individuals, some in critical condition. Witness Sonny Singh, 40, described seeing a bleeding teenager and a chaotic scene with people running and screaming after the vehicle struck fans.

Matt Cole, a BBC reporter, shared that he narrowly escaped with his daughter when a dark blue car barreled through the crowd, pursued by men trying to stop it.
