Shivsagar (Assam), 27 February (HS): The third day of Mahashivratri is being celebrated in Shivsagar with full religious spirit and faith. Since Thursday morning, thousands of devotees were seen standing in long queues for worship at the historic Shivdoul temple.
A four-day Mahashivratri festival is being celebrated in this historic temple of Shivsagar from February 25. The local administration has made extensive arrangements for security and order, due to which the whole city is immersed in a devotional and festive atmosphere.
On this occasion, many cultural programs are also being organized along with religious rituals. On this holy festival of Shivratri, devotees are fasting and worshiping Lord Shiva and wishing for the happiness and prosperity of the country, society and their family.
Like every year, this time also a huge fair has been organized along with the festival, in which more than 500 business establishments from local and outside states have participated. In view of this festival, the administration has declared a local holiday in Shivsagar district today.
