Stock market opens on green mark, Sensex jumps 39 points
New Delhi, 27 February (HS): After the Mahashivratri holiday, the stock market opened on the green mark on Thursday, the fourth trading day of the week. In early trade, the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) Sensex is trending at 74,641.01, up 38.89 points

New Delhi, 27 February (HS): After the Mahashivratri holiday, the stock market opened on the green mark on Thursday, the fourth trading day of the week. In early trade, the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) Sensex is trending at 74,641.01, up 38.89 points or 0.052 per cent. However, the National Stock Exchange (NSE) Nifty is trading at 22,544.25 with a fall of 3.30 points or 0.015 per cent.

Out of 30 Sensex stocks, 20 stocks are seeing a decline and 10 stocks are seeing a rise. At the same time, out of 50 Nifty stocks, 33 stocks are seeing a decline, while 17 stocks are rising. Apart from this, in other Asian markets, Japan's Nikkei is up by 0.15 percent, while Korea's KOSPI is down by 0.83 percent, Hong Kong's Hang Seng is down by 0.56 percent and China's Shanghai Composite Index is down by 0.46 percent.

The stock market was closed on 26 February on the occasion of Mahashivratri. Earlier on Tuesday, the second trading day of the week, the BSE Sensex closed at 74,602 with a gain of 147 points. At the same time, NSE's Nifty slipped 5 points and closed at 22,547.
