New Delhi, 25 February (HS): Global market is showing signs of weakness today. US markets closed with a decline after the previous session. However, Dow Jones futures are seen trading with gains today. European markets closed with mixed results after the previous session. Asian markets are showing a weak trend today.
Due to increased pressure on tech stocks, US markets fell during the previous session. Dow Jones fell by about 250 points from the upper level. Similarly, the S&P 500 index ended the previous session's trading at 5,983.27 points with a decline of 0.50 percent. Apart from this, Nasdaq closed at 19,287.27 points with a weakness of 236.74 points i.e. 1.21 percent. However, Dow Jones Futures is currently trading at 43,588.93 points with a gain of 127.72 points or 0.29 percent.
The European markets closed with mixed results after the last session's trading. The FTSE index closed at 8,658.98 points with a symbolic weakness of 0.39 points. Similarly, the CAC index ended the last session's trading at 8,090.99 points, falling 0.79 percent. On the other hand, the DAX index closed at 22,425.93 points with a gain of 138.37 points or 0.62 percent.
There is pressure in Asian markets today as well. Out of 9 Asian markets, 8 indices are trading in the red with a decline, while only one index is in the green with a slight increase. The only index in Asian markets, Nifty, is trading at 22,613.50 points with a gain of 0.12 percent.
On the other hand, the Straits Times Index is trading at 3,923.47 points with a decline of 0.11 percent. Similarly, the Hang Seng Index has fallen by 145.28 points i.e. 0.63 percent to the level of 23,196.33 points. A big decline has been registered in the Jakarta Composite Index today. Currently, this index is trading at 6,613.50 points with a weakness of 136.10 points i.e. 2.02 percent.
Similarly, the SET Composite Index has fallen by 1.55 percent to 1,216.67 points. Apart from this, Nikkei index slipped 452.31 points or 1.17 percent to 38,324.63 points, Taiwan Weighted Index fell 247.27 points or 1.05 percent to 23,318.04 points, Kospi index fell 0.27 percent to 2,638.13 points and Shanghai Composite Index fell 0.14 percent to 3,368.24 points.
