Cuttack, 25 February (HS): In Pro Kabaddi League (PKL) Season 11, Patna Pirates and Services star raider Devank Dalal has caught everyone's attention with his excellent playing talent. With 301 raid points and 18 Super 10, he emerged as the best raider of the league. On the basis of his excellent performance, he also got the title of 'Best Player' in the 71st Senior National Men's Kabaddi Championship.
In the final match held at Jawaharlal Nehru Indoor Stadium in Cuttack, Services won the title by defeating Railways 6-4 in the tie-breaker, in which Dalal scored the decisive raid points. After this match, he said, After joining the army, I realized that I can move forward in Kabaddi. The army enhanced my physical and mental ability.
Devank Dalal's Kabaddi journey started with football and cricket, but after tenth grade he chose Kabaddi as a career. After making his Pro Kabaddi debut with Jaipur Pink Panthers, he joined Patna Pirates ahead of Season 11.
There was celebration in his village when he was selected for Patna Pirates. He said, The whole village was celebrating. People distributed laddus and rasgullas.
In PKL Season 11, Devank Dalal performed brilliantly with 301 raid points and 18 Super 10s and led Patna Pirates to the final. However, in the title match, his team lost 32-23 against Haryana Steelers.
Talking about his success, he said, There is no concept of main raider in our team. All players contribute equally. My partnership with Ayan Lohchab was excellent.
Devank Dalal is also very aware of the nuances of his game. He said, Wherever I raid - at six, four or five positions - movement and stopping there makes a big difference. If I stop my movement, I get caught quickly, but with the right timing it becomes easy to take points.
Focus on continuous improvementOn future plans, Devank Dalal says that he wants to constantly improve his technique and is focusing on bringing more and more success to the team. Looking at his performance, it is certain that he can become a big star of Indian Kabaddi in the future.
