New Delhi, February 25 (HS): Delhi's Rouse Avenue Court today took cognizance of the charge sheet filed in the case related to the CBI in the land for job case. Special Judge Vishal Gogne issued summons against Lalu Prasad Yadav, his son Tej Pratap Yadav and daughter Hema Yadav in this case. The court had reserved the decision on February 21.
The CBI had told the court on January 30 that approval has been received to prosecute former public servant RK Mahajan. Along with Mahajan, approval has been given for prosecution against all the former public servants accused in the case including Lalu Prasad Yadav. The CBI filed the final charge sheet in this case on June 7, 2024. 78 people have been made accused in this. These include 38 candidates who got jobs in the railways.
Apart from this, the ED told the court that it is yet to get permission to prosecute in this case. In the ED case, the court took cognizance of the first supplementary charge sheet on September 18, 2024 and issued summons to seven accused including Lalu Prasad Yadav, Tejashwi Yadav, Tej Pratap Yadav to appear in the court. In the ED case, on March 7, 2024, the court granted regular bail to Rabri Devi, Misa Bharti, Hema Yadav and Hridayananda Chaudhary.
In the ED case, the High Court has granted bail to accused Amit Katyal.
In this case, before ED, the CBI had registered a case. In the case related to CBI, the court granted bail to Tejashwi Yadav, Lalu Prasad Yadav and Rabri Devi on October 4, 2023. The court took cognizance of the second charge sheet filed by the CBI on September 22, 2023. On July 3, 2023, the CBI filed a supplementary charge sheet. On February 27, 2023, the court took cognizance of the charge sheet filed against all including these three accused. On October 7, 2022, the CBI filed a chargesheet against 16 accused including Lalu Prasad Yadav, Rabri Devi and Misa Bharti in the Land for Job case.
