Kolkata, 21 February (H.S.) – A shocking incident has surfaced from the Mohammad Bazar area in Birbhum district, West Bengal, where three members of a tribal family were found dead under mysterious circumstances. On Friday morning, neighbors discovered the bodies of Lakshmi Maddi (25) and her two children—Rupali (10) and Abhijit (8)—lying on a cot and the floor beneath it. All three bodies showed severe head injuries, suggesting they were murdered.
The incident has triggered tension in the area, with local residents alleging foul play and demanding the immediate arrest of those responsible. When the police arrived, angry locals initially prevented the bodies from being removed and pressed for swift action against the perpetrators.
Superintendent of Police, Amandeep, assured the crowd that a thorough investigation would be conducted following the recovery of the bodies. Preliminary investigations suggest that the victims were attacked with a heavy object. However, the exact motive behind the killings and the identity of those involved remain unclear at this stage.
Lakshmi Maddi’s husband, Laltu Maddi, who works in Durgapur, was informed of the incident immediately after the discovery. Police are optimistic about solving the case soon.
The situation in Mohammad Bazar remains tense, with locals warning that they will not allow the bodies to be cremated until the accused are arrested and justice is served.
