Shillong, 21 February (HS): Meghalaya Police has arrested six illegal Bangladeshis including a woman and two Indian touts helping them while trying to enter Assam in Jengjal of Garo Hills district. Police said on Friday that a special operation was conducted on Thursday night after an intelligence input. Police has arrested the six illegal Bangladeshis including a woman while trying to enter Assam from Jengjal of Garo Hills district. The arrested Bangladeshis have been identified as Ruhul Amin (33), Dadan alias Din Islam (38), Dilwar Hussain (27), Sarman Begum (35), Sultan Mahmud (37) and Rabel Kobiras (33).
Apart from this, the police has arrested these illegal Bangladeshis (Indian touts) from Garo Hills district of Meghalaya on charges of facilitating the entry of these illegal Bangladeshis into Assam. They have been identified as Rakibul Islam (20) and Jeelhak Ali (28), residents of Goalpara district. Police is investigating the matter further.
