Jammu, 21 February (H.S.): Highlighting the party’s commitment to women empowerment, J&K BJP spokesperson, Adv Purnima Sharma has cited the election of Rekha Gupta as the Chief Minister of Delhi, as latest example in this regard.

“BJP has consistently worked towards empowering women across all sectors and the nomination of Rekha Gupta as Chief Minister is yet another step in this direction, reinforcing the party’s dedication to promoting women in leadership roles,” she said, while talking to media persons, here today.

Highlighting Rekha Gupta’s journey from being a student leader at Delhi University in 1992 to being elected as MLA and Chief Minister, Purnima said that its reflects BJP’s focus on nurturing local leaders based on merit and dedication.

Purnima Sharma recalled that the BJP has a strong track record of placing women in prominent positions, as seen in the leadership of Sushma Swaraj, Nirmala Sitharaman, Smriti Irani, and other women leaders. She stated that Gupta’s nomination is a continuation of this tradition, reflecting the party’s trust and respect for women’s leadership.
