Ballia,
21 Feb (HS): A high school student and an elderly woman allegedly commited
suicide in separate events in Uttar Pradesh's Ballia district, authorities said
on Friday. A 17-year-old girl in Shivrampur Mohan Chhapra village allegedly
hung herself in an empty structure near her house.
According
to Station House Officer (SHO) Mithilesh Kumar, only her mother was there at
their home when the event occurred. He said that the girl hung herself in an
empty home nearby. According to the SHO, the adolescent was using her cell
phone to prepare for her impending exams, but her mother chastised her for
doing so. The officer stated that girl
later committed suicide. The corpse has been submitted for post-mortem
examination.
Anita
Devi, 65, allegedly committed suicide in a room of her home in Apayal village,
according to reports. According to authorities, she was involved in a conflict
with her son, which had previously been brought to cops attention. Police said they submitted the deceased for
post-mortem and additional investigation in the issue is continuing.
