New Delhi, 20 February (HS): Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta took charge at Delhi Secretariat on Thursday. She is the fourth woman Chief Minister of Delhi and the second woman Chief Minister of BJP.
After being elected as the leader of the party's legislative party on Wednesday evening, Rekha Gupta went to Raj Niwas and met Lieutenant Governor VK Saxena and staked claim to form the government. On Thursday afternoon, she took the oath of office and secrecy along with her six fellow ministers at Ramlila Maidan.
Rekha Gupta will inspect the cleaning of Yamuna river and perform Yamuna Aarti with her cabinet shortly today. After this, the Chief Minister will hold a cabinet meeting at 7 pm.
Earlier, Rekha Gupta wrote a post on X that under the double engine government of BJP, every day Delhi will be continuously paved on the path of development. She and her ministers will always strive to achieve the goal of a developed Delhi with determination.
She further wrote, I assure the people of Delhi that every moment of my life will be dedicated to your service. The Prime Minister and the top leadership of BJP have entrusted the responsibility of fulfilling the aspirations of the people of Delhi on a common worker like me, and I will work day and night to fulfill it.
