20 Feb (HS): Suresh Kumar Khanna, Uttar Pradesh's Finance Minister, presented a
comprehensive Rs 8,08,736-crore Budget for 2025-26, with a focus on research
and development and information technology. The budget focuses development,
education, agriculture, and health, while emphasizing the state's excellent
economic accomplishments under Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath's leadership. In
a smart attempt to strengthen Uttar Pradesh's economy, Finance Minister Suresh
Kumar Khanna introduced a solid Rs 8,08,736-crore budget for the fiscal year
2025-26 in the state lrgislature on Thursday. The financial strategy emphasizes
R&D as well as large expenditures in information technology. Khanna devoted
22% of his budget to development, 13% to education, 11% to agriculture, and 6%
to health.
He
commented on plans to create an Artificial Intelligence City and a cyber
security research park to promote technological growth. Khanna praised Chief
Minister Yogi Adityanath and stated that the state's budgetary health has
improved significantly since 2017, noting successes in health, capital
expenditure, and economic growth. The budget projects a doubling of the state's
economy, with the Gross State Domestic Product reaching Rs 27.51 lakh crore in
2024-25.
