Haridwar, 20 February (HS): Yonex Sunrise 23rd Uttarakhand Veteran State Badminton Championship is going to be organized from 21 to 23 February at City Sports Complex Bhalla College.

Tournament organizing secretary Gaurav Gupta said that about 240 players from all the districts of Uttarakhand state are coming to Haridwar to participate in this championship. In this championship, women and men players in the age group of 35 years to 75 plus will participate in singles, doubles and mixed doubles matches.

District Badminton Association Secretary Ashutosh Sharma said that many national and international level players are also participating in this championship organized under the aegis of Uttarakhand State Badminton Association and under the leadership of State President of Badminton Association Dr. Alaknanda Ashok. He told that for the last two years, the City Sports Complex was closed for reconstruction and when last month Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami inaugurated this complex,this sports complex has become the only sports center of its kind in the entire state where players can participate in many sports at one place. Now the state championship is going to be organized on this newly built national level badminton court.

Tomorrow at 11 am, this championship tournament will be inaugurated by Vice President HRDA Anshul Singh and Secretary HRDA Manish Singh will be the special guest, after which for the next three days, male and female badminton players will spread the colors of their game in City Sports Complex Bhalla College.
