Bhubaneswar, 20 February (H.S.): In a daring daylight robbery, unidentified armed miscreants looted around Rs 27 lakh from the State Bank of India (SBI) Bahalda branch in Mayurbhanj district, Odisha, today.

According to sources five masked individuals arrived near the bank around 10:15 am on two motorcycles. Three of the miscreants entered the bank, and one of them drew a gun, threatening the bank employees. The robbers also physically assaulted some employees, leaving them injured.

Before fleeing the scene on their motorcycles, the culprits made off with approximately Rs 27 lakh in cash.

Upon receiving the information, the police immediately reached the location and launched an investigation. Authorities are reviewing CCTV footage from the bank to identify the culprits and trace their whereabouts. A scientific team and a dog squad have also been deployed to assist with the investigation.
