Jammu, 20 February (H.S.): Senior BJP leader and former Minister Ajatshatru Singh has strongly condemned Pakistan’s Parliament for passing a resolution urging India to hold a plebiscite in Kashmir, calling it a desperate and hollow attempt to mislead the international community. He reaffirmed that J&K is an integral part of India and that no external force can alter this undeniable reality.
In a press release issued today, Singh ridiculed Pakistan’s move, stating that it reflects the frustration of a failing state that has lost global credibility. He accused Pakistan of attempting to divert attention from its own internal crisis, including political instability, economic collapse, and increasing global isolation, by reviving baseless rhetoric on Kashmir. Questioning Pakistan’s moral standing, he highlighted its brutal suppression of minorities, enforced disappearances in Balochistan, and its continued sponsorship of terrorism.
Denouncing Pakistan’s interference in India’s internal affairs, Singh asserted that the people of J&K have repeatedly rejected Pakistan’s nefarious designs. He emphasized that J&K is experiencing unprecedented development under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, moving beyond the dark shadows of separatism and violence. Challenging Pakistan to first hold a plebiscite in Pakistan-occupied Jammu Kashmir, he pointed out the suffering of people there under oppressive rule, deprived of basic rights.
Urging the global community to recognize Pakistan’s role in fueling terrorism and regional instability, Singh called on Pakistan to dismantle terror networks, bring the perpetrators of the 26/11 Mumbai attacks to justice, and ensure the safety of its own citizens before making unwarranted demands on Kashmir. He reaffirmed that J&K’s future lies solely with India, dismissing Pakistan’s propaganda as baseless and ineffective.
