Bhubaneswar, 20 February (H.S.) Since June 2024, a total of 3,717 people have lost their lives in accidents, according to Transport Minister Bibhuti Bhushan Jena’s response to a query raised by BJD MLA Arun Sahu in the Assembly.
The Minister informed that there have been 6,327 road accidents in the state during this period, resulting in 3,401 serious injuries. Of these, 918 accidents were caused by overspeeding, while 1,052 were due to reckless driving. Additionally, 46 accidents occurred due to drunk driving, and 4,677 accidents happened due to other reasons.
