In a shocking incident of animal cruelty, a stray dog was thrown from the second floor of a popular mall in Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu. The incident occurred at Kovai Mall, leaving the dog with multiple fractures.

According to eyewitnesses, the dog was thrown by an unidentified person, and it fell onto the floor, sustaining severe injuries. The incident has sparked widespread outrage and condemnation from animal lovers and welfare organizations.

The injured dog was rushed to a nearby animal shelter for treatment. Veterinary doctors confirmed that the dog suffered multiple fractures, including a broken leg and pelvis.

The Coimbatore City Police have launched an investigation into the incident and are reviewing CCTV footage to identify the perpetrator.Animal welfare organizations have condemned the incident and demanded strict action against the person responsible.

According to sources S Gowtham Srinivasan, an animal activist, rescued the dog and took it for treatment. He then filed a complaint with the Saravanampatti Police Station. “An investigation is going on. CSR has been given to the complainant. A case will be registered after we identify the suspects,” said Senthilkumar, Inspector of Saravanampatti Police Station.

Ex Vice-Chairman of the Animal Welfare Board of India(AWBI) and Co-founder of Blue Cross of India, Chennai informed Hindusthan Samachar, Tamilnadu DGP has been requested to take stringent action against animal offenders. He also said that the DGP Tamilnadu has assured and the action taken will be intimated.

The incident has highlighted the need for stricter laws and enforcement to protect animals from cruelty and abuse.
