Bhubaneswar, 19 February (H.S.): The body of Prakriti Lamsal, a third-year B.Tech student at Kalinga Institute of Industrial Technology (KIIT), who tragically died by suicide in her hostel room on Sunday, was handed over to her family on Tuesday night.

Sources confirmed that a post-mortem was conducted at the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) in Bhubaneswar before the body was returned to her family.

Prakriti's family later took her remains to Nepal for the final rites.

The 19-year-old student allegedly took her own life due to harassment by a fellow student, Advik Srivastava, a Mechanical Engineering student at KIIT. Srivastava was arrested by the Commissionerate Police at Bhubaneswar airport on Monday evening in connection with the incident.
