Jabalpur, February 19 (HS): Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav, is committed to promote sports in the state and develop sports facilities as per international standards, is going to give a big gift to the residents of Sanskardhani in the form of Ranjhi Sports Complex during his stay in Jabalpur today (Wednesday). The Chief Minister will inaugurate this sports complex built by the Sports and Youth Welfare Department of the State Government at a cost of about Rs 26 crore 80 lakh under the Khelo India scheme.
Public Relations Officer Anand Jain said that national and international level track and field competitions can be organized in the sports complex equipped with state-of-the-art facilities built in an area of about 12.7 acres of Jabalpur Engineering College in Ranjhi. A 400 meter eight-lane synthetic athletic track has been built here. Rs 6 crore 95 lakh has been spent on the construction of this synthetic athletic track alone. The synthetic athletic track has been covered with chain link fencing and a pathway has also been built. Football competitions can also be organized in Ranjhi Sports Complex.
An archery arena has also been built in an area of 6 thousand 250 square meters in the sports complex. 50 and 70 meter archery competitions can be held in it. Along with international level sports facilities, special attention has also been given to the facilities of the players in Ranjhi Sports Complex. Technical building, hostel building and pavilion with spectator gallery have been constructed in the sports complex at a cost of Rs 19 crore 85 lakh.
The three-storey technical building built in an area of 1 thousand 835 square meters in the sports complex will also have facilities like player room for boys and girls, physio room, coach room, meeting hall, class room, gym, library and office room. All these rooms will be air conditioned. A 74-bed hostel building has also been constructed in the sports complex for the accommodation of players in an area of 2 thousand 384 square meters.
