Rajouri, 19 February (H.S.): Chief Education Officer (CEO) Rajouri today issued show cause notice to the HoDs of 33 government and private schools in Rajouri district, asking them to explain why they did not verify the application forms of ST students applying for scholarships on the National Scholarship Portal.
According to the show cause notice issued by the Chief Education Officer, Rajouri, the students studying in various government and private schools of the district, had applied on the National Scholarship Portal for scholarships under the Umbrella Scheme for Education of ST Students Pre-Matric Scholarship.
The CEO stated that it was the sole responsibility of the heads of the institutions to verify the scholarship application forms on the portal on time, because until the school verifies the students on the portal, no student is eligible to get a scholarship. The last date for verification on the portal was February 15, 2025, and the CEO office issued a notice on February 5, 2025 instructing all schools to verify the application forms of the students before the last date and before the portal closes.
There are 33 government and private schools in the district who did not verify the application forms of the children applying on the National Scholarship Portal and the portal closed with the last date.
The CEO has directed the heads of all the defaulter institutions to clarify their position within two days, the action under law/rules will be taken against them. The CEO said that all the school heads will be held responsible for depriving the poor children of their scholarship rights.
