Mahakumbh
Nagar, 19 Feb (HS): Despite concerns of faecal pollution, Uttar Pradesh Chief
Minister Yogi Adityanath has affirmed that latest investigations certified the
Sangam's water as safe for both bathing and ceremonial use. Adityanath
underlined the need of regular water quality monitoring by the Uttar Pradesh
and Central Pollution Control Boards during his speech to the state assembly.
Taking a shot at the opposition Samajwadi Party, he accused them for the Ganga
and Yamuna rivers' poor state during their reign, citing the 2013 Kumbh, when
bad water quality prevented noteworthy guests. Adityanath emphasized
substantial improvements, including 81 drains that contribute to better sewage
treatment at the site. As preparations for the 2025 Maha Kumbh Mela continue,
Adityanath has promised greater amenities, bigger parking zones, and upgraded
infrastructure.
