Aizawl, 19 February (HS): Assam Rifles, in a joint operation with Zokhavathar Police, recovered 9.298 kgs of banned methamphetamine narcotic tablets from Crossing Point-2 (Wangkai) of Zokhavathar in Champhai district of Mizoram. Assam Rifles said on Wednesday that two Myanmar nationals were arrested during this.
According to officials, the value of the recovered drugs is estimated to be crores of rupees in the international market. Assam Rifles and Police took this action as part of the drive to stop drug smuggling in the border area. Interrogation of the arrested Myanmar nationals is going on and the matter has been handed over to the concerned agencies for further investigation.
