Lucknow,
18 Feb (HS): On the first day of the budget session of the Uttar Pradesh
Assembly on Tuesday, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath launched a scathing attack
on the opposition, especially the Samajwadi Party. He said that the SP leaders
will educate their children in English medium schools and when the government
talks about providing better facilities to the children of the common people,
these people start advocating the imposition of Urdu. He alleged that the SP
wants to take the country towards fundamentalism, which will not be acceptable
at all.
After
the Governor's address, the proceedings of the Legislative Assembly began at
12:30 pm. From the bench, the Speaker of the Legislative Assembly Satish Mahana
informed the House about the new system implemented in the Legislative
Assembly. He told that under this system, now the proceedings of the House can
be heard in Hindi as well as Bhojpuri, Awadhi, Braj, Bundeli as well as
English. By changing the channel in the mike installed inside the House, the
members of the House can also listen to the proceedings in their dialect. On
this, Leader of Opposition Mata Prasad Pandey stood up from his seat and
protested. He said that after a lot of hard work, English was removed from this
House. We are not against other languages, we are against English. If English
is being brought, then Urdu should also be brought.
On
this, the leader of the House and Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath welcomed the
decision to give place to the local dialects of Uttar Pradesh - Bhojpuri,
Awadhi, Braj and Bundelkhandi in the proceedings of the Assembly. He said that
considering these dialects as dialects of Hindi, the government is committed to
their preservation and promotion. Yogi said that our government is forming
separate academies for these languages, so that they prosper. These are the
daughters of Hindi and they should get proper respect. This House is not only
for scholars, but the voice of every section of the society should get a place
here. He said that those who are opposing Bhojpuri, Awadhi, Braj and
Bundelkhandi are actually against the cultural heritage of Uttar Pradesh.
Targeting the Samajwadi Party, he said that their character has become double.
The
leader of the house said that Braj Bhasha is so rich that Saint Surdas composed
his works in this language. Similarly, Saint Tulsidas ji composed
Ramcharitmanas in Awadhi, which became a support not only for North India but
also for the NRIs in times of crisis. Those who are opposing Bhojpuri, Awadhi
and Braj languages today are actually against the cultural heritage and traditions
of India. It is very sad that when these languages are being given respect,
some people are opposing it.
Taking
a dig at the opposition, Yogi said that it has become the nature of the
Samajwadi Party to oppose every good work. You people oppose every positive
step taken in the interest of the state and the country. This will not work. He
said that when the Vidhan Sabha Secretariat recognized local languages, the
Samajwadi Party opposed it as well. Taking a dig, he said that the public understands
this double standard of the SP and they should be exposed in front of the
society.
Socialists
want to take the country towards fundamentalism, says CM Yogi: The Chief
Minister said that his government is committed to promoting Bhojpuri, Awadhi,
Braj and Bundelkhandi. Bhojpuri Academy, Awadhi Academy and Braj Academy are
being established to give respect to these languages. It is our responsibility
to save our mother tongues and promote them. This protest of the opposition
shows that they are not only against development, but also against our culture.
These people will educate their children in English schools and if the
government wants to provide that facility to someone else's child, they say no,
teach him Urdu. That is, they want to make the children maulvis. They want to
take the country towards fundamentalism. This cannot go on.
Finance
and Parliamentary Affairs Minister Suresh Khanna said that we are not imposing
English. This is an option. If our people are abroad and want to watch the
proceedings of the House in English, they will be able to do so. This step will
expand the Vidhan Sabha and its proceedings. Therefore, its opposition is not
justified. After this, some amendment bills were tabled and other work was
done. With this, the proceedings of the House were adjourned till 11 am on
Wednesday.
The
MLA of Milkipur was sworn in: As soon as the proceedings of the House began,
Parliamentary Affairs Minister Suresh Khanna requested the Speaker of the
Legislative Assembly to administer the oath to BJP MLA Chandrabhanu Paswan who
won the by-election from Milkipur Assembly seat of Ayodhya. On this, Speaker of
the Legislative Assembly Satish Mahana administered the oath of membership of
the Legislative Assembly to Chandrabhanu Paswan who won with a huge margin from
the Milkipur Assembly seat of Ayodhya district. After this, Chandrabhanu Paswan
also participated in the proceedings of the House.
