Nagpur, 18
Feb (HS):- A male tiger, approximately 3-4 years old, was found dead in the
Nakadongri forest range under the Bhandara Forest Division on Monday evening. A
herder noticed the dead tiger and informed forest officials around 4:30 PM.
A team of forest
officers and staff rushed to the site in the Sitasavangi Reserved Forest. All
body parts were intact, ruling out the possibility of poaching.
A special
investigation team was formed to examine the site and the carcass. Preliminary
findings suggest that the tiger may have died in a territorial fight with
another tiger.
Forensic samples will be sent for
further examination. Meanwhile, a wildlife offense case has been registered,
and an investigation is underway under the guidance of Deputy Conservator of
Forests Rahul Gawai.
