Amravati, 18 Feb (HS):- Tata Group’s Air India is
expected to start commercial pilot training at Belora Airport in Amravati in
July this year. The intake capacity of the training project is 180, which
would make Amravati an important city on India’s map. The development work at
the existing airport is in progress faster. Amravati’s training
centre will be the biggest in the state.
The project spread in 10 acres of land with a
separate administrative wing and hostel for the trainees. Maharashtra Airport
Development Company and Air India Pilot Training Centre took the initiative to develop the centre in Amravati.
The Central Aviation Ministry is likely to clear
the proposal for the passenger traffic at the Belora airport. The first flight
connecting Amravati and Mumbai by a 72-seater aircraft is expected to be
started by the end of March this year.
