Bhind, 18 February (HS): A high speed dumper hit a pickup loading vehicle in Bhind district of Madhya Pradesh on Tuesday morning. Five people died in this incident, while about 20 people are said to be injured. They have been admitted to the hospital. After the incident, the relatives of the deceased have gathered on the road. A heavy police force is present on the spot.
According to the information, the accident took place on National Highway number 719 at around 5 am on Tuesday. Jawaharpura Niwali Rakesh Jatav's son's wedding was on Monday. People from his in-laws' side were boarding the loading vehicle at 5 am to go home to Bhavanipura. People who had come to see them off were also standing there. Then a dumper came from Etawah and hit the loading vehicle. The collision was so strong that the loading vehicle was dragged for 50 meters. Three people died on the spot. One died while being taken to the hospital. A woman died during treatment in the hospital. All are related to each other. The deceased also include a couple. About 20 people were injured in the accident. They were taken to the hospital with the help of an ambulance. After the accident, the dumper driver fled from the spot.

After the accident, the angry villagers blocked the road. They raised slogans against the collector, SP and other public representatives including the MP, demanding to make the highway a six-lane highway. The police officers present on the spot tried to convince them but they did not listen. As soon as the information was received, Collector Sanjeev Srivastava, SP Asit Yadav, SDM Akhilesh Sharma, DSP Deepak Tomar reached there and talked to the people. He assured to convey their demand to the higher authorities. The jam could be cleared after about 4 hours. During this time, police force from four police stations was called to manage the situation. Before this, Collector Shrivastava reached the hospital and met the injured. He talked to the family members present there.
