Guwahati, 18 February (HS): State Bank of India, Guwahati on Tuesday provided financial assistance to 135 war heroes and Veer Naris under its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) activity. The program was organized at 'Sainik Bhawan', Lachit Nagar, Guwahati in collaboration with Assam Sainik Welfare Directorate.
On this occasion, General Manager of State Bank of India, Amresh Kumar Jha, senior officials of the bank, officers of Headquarters 51 Sub Area and Directors, officers and employees of Assam Sainik Welfare Directorate were present. Amresh Kumar Jha presented a symbolic cheque of ₹69.75 lakh to Brigadier Palash Choudhary, Sena Medal, Director of Assam Sainik Welfare Directorate. This amount will be distributed to 135 beneficiaries selected by the State Bank of India, in which ₹50,000 will be deposited directly in the bank account of each war hero and Veer Nari.
The State Bank of India team also presented gifts to the ex-servicemen and their families present at the event. The event concluded with informal interaction and high tea among the dignitaries, war heroes and Veer Naris.
