Guwahati, 18 February (HS): The report of Justice Biplab Kumar Sharma Commission on the appointments in Assam Public Service Commission has exposed the widespread corruption during the Congress government led by the then Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi. The buying and selling of government jobs at that time has been confirmed, which has darkened the future of an entire generation. This statement was made by the Bharatiya Janata Party, Assam State President Dilip Saikia on Tuesday during a press conference held at the state BJP headquarters Atal Bihari Vajpayee Bhawan in Basistha, the capital.

Saikia said that the serious revelations related to Tarun Gogoi and his son Gaurav Gogoi in the report prove the deep nexus between Congress and corruption. He said, Congress means corruption, and corruption means Congress. Describing former Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi as the kingpin of corruption, he said that the Congress will have to answer for this scam. He demanded that Congress should issue a white paper to clarify the situation to the people of Assam. Saikia also said that all those involved in this scam should be given strict punishment and the government should take action as soon as possible.

Senior BJP leaders Pallav Lochan Das, Diplu Ranjan Sharma, Pulak Goswami, Chief Spokesperson Manoj Barua and Media Incharge Devan Dhruva Jyoti Maral were also present in the press conference.
