Lucknow,
18 Feb (HS): The first day of the UPLegislative Assembly's Budget Session was
marred by political strife, drawing attention to widespread issues such as
inflation, poverty, and unemployment in the state. BSP President Mayawati turned
to social media platform X to express her worries, emphasizing the need of
fiscal allocations in tackling these issues. Mayawati's statements followed
Governor Anandiben Patel's speech, which was cut short owing to loud protests
from opposition lawmakers. The opposition's outburst, which included slogans
such as 'Governor go back', led the session to be suspended for an hour. The
acrimonious environment emphasized the ongoing fight between the ruling and
opposition parties.
The
budget session was fraught with tension, as evidenced by Mayawati's warning
that meaningful aid for the poor remains uncertain. She underlined the need for
broad trust and cooperation to ensure the efficient use of state resources for
the public's benefit.
