BJP is the richest party
in the country. The party has declared an income of Rs 4,340.47 crore in the
financial year 2023-24. This amount is 74.57 percent of the total income of all
the 6 national parties of the country. The income of BJP, which has returned to
power at the Center for the third consecutive time, is many times more than its
nearest rivals. This information was given in the report of Association of
Democratic Reforms (ADR).
According to the report,
BJP declared a total income of Rs 4,340.473 crore during the financial year
2023-24. The total income of Congress was Rs 1,225.12 crore. CPI(M) declared
total income of Rs 167.636 crore. The total income of BSP was Rs 64.7798 crore.
The total income of Aam Aadmi Party was Rs 22.68 crore. The total income of
NPEP was Rs 0.2244 crore.
Previous financial year
comparison, BJP's income has increased by 83.85% (Rs 1979.629 crore). BJP had
declared an income of Rs 2360.844 crore in the financial year 2022-23. The
party's income increased to Rs 4340.473 crore in the financial year 2023-24.
The income of Congress was
Rs 452.375 crore in the financial year 2022-23. In 2023-24 it increased to Rs
1225.119 crore. There was an increase of 170.82% percent.
The income of CPI (M) was
Rs 141.661 crore in the financial year 2022-23. This amount will increase to Rs
167.636 crore in 2023-24. There was an increase of about 18.34% i.e. Rs 25.975
crore.
The income of Aam Aadmi
Party, Bahujan Samaj Party and NPEP, (it’s in Meghalaya) has decreased. In
comparison to 2022-23, the income of Aam Aadmi Party in 2023-24 has decreased
by Rs 20.3902 crore, the income of BSP has decreased by Rs 6.59 crore and the
income of NPEP has decreased by Rs 97.03 i.e. Rs 7.3376 crore.
A large part of the income
of national parties came from electoral bonds. BJP got the maximum of Rs
1,685.63 crore. Congress got Rs 828.36 crore and Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) got Rs
10.15 crore. These three parties raised Rs 2,524.1361 crore, i.e. 43.36 percent
of their total income, through the electoral bond scheme. As all knows, the
Supreme Court had declared electoral bonds unconstitutional and arbitrary.
Where was the money spent:
reports say that during the financial year 2023-24, BJP spent Rs 1754.065 crore
on elections and general campaigning. Whereas Rs 349.718 crore was spent on
administrative items.
Congress spent the most on
election expenses. While Rs 619.672 crore has been shown as election
expenditure, Rs 340.702 crore has been spent on administrative and general
expenditure.
CPI (M) has spent the
highest amount of Rs 56.2932 crore on administrative and general expenses. An
expenditure of Rs 47.57 crore has been shown on employee costs.
Aam Aadmi Party and BSP
declared the highest expenditure of Rs 23.47 crore and Rs 19.113 crore
respectively on election expenditure and publicity. NPEP announced to spend Rs
64.62 lakh for the financial year 2023-24.
On November 19, 2014, the
Election Commission had directed all political parties to submit audit reports.
Under this, all the national parties presented the details of total income and
expenditure to the Election Commission. These figures have been prepared based
on that report. All political parties had to submit reports by 31 October 2024.
Only BSP, NPEP and Aam Aadmi Party submitted their reports on time.
There is total 6 national
parties in India. Congress is the oldest party. Bharatiya Janata Party is the
largest party in the country. CPIM has the status of a national party among the
left parties. Apart from this, Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) and Bahujan Samaj Party
(BSP) also have the status of national party. Apart from these, there is
another party National People's Party (NEPE), it is mainly concentrated in
Meghalaya. After being expelled from NCP in July 2012, it was established by P.
A. Sangama. It got the status of national party on 7 June 2019.
