Jammu, 8 December (H.S.): Jat Leader Shamsher Choudhary here today visited border village Badyal Brahmana Deriyan and listen to the problems faced by the Jat community.

He appealed to the community members to come together to resolve the issues.

A meeting was also held in the village which was chaired by young Jat leader, Sahil Chaudhary.

District Development Council member, Anita Chaudhary, Jat leaders Ashok Chaudhary, Rishabh Chaudhary, Ex-Sarpanch Surjeet Chaudhary, Ashwani Chaudhary, Kartik Chaudhary, Minda Chaudhary and community members from various villages attended the meeting.

Addressing the gathering, Shamsher Chaudhary said that members of the Jat community still live in border areas and depend on animal rearing and agriculture for their livelihood.

“Jat community in J&K has been consistently neglected and after struggle, the community got OBC status in J&K but this is not applicable in central recruitment,” he maintained adding that J&K Jat Sabha should prioritize the problems of Jat community.

The Jat leader also said that their community suffered damages in recent devastating floods and some families still have not received any compensation from the Government.
