91% of Complaints Resolved in Chief Minister’s Grievance Cell: Law Minister

Bhubaneswar, 8 December (H.S.) : Law Minister Prithwiraj Harichandan informed the Odisha Assembly that 91 percent of complaints received in the Chief Minister’s Grievance Cell have been resolved. The statement was presented on behalf of the Chief Minister.

According to the Minister, the Grievance Cell has received a total of 13,358 complaints so far, of which 12,432 have been resolved. Complaint hearings are also being conducted every Monday at the district, sub-division, and tehsil levels. The Chief Secretary and various departments are facilitating online registration of complaints through the state portal.

The Minister noted that although the Chief Minister’s Grievance Cell was established in 2008, the system was not effectively implemented under previous governments. Due to bureaucratic hurdles, complaints received at the local level often remained unresolved.

Responding to a question by BJP MLA Tankadhar Tripathy, the Minister said that necessary measures are now being taken to ensure timely resolution of complaints, and specific time frames have been set for some cases.

The Minister further added that a total of 1,441,832 complaints have been registered on the Jan Sunwai portal, of which 1,307,253 have been resolved. The remaining 134,579 complaints are mostly complex cases, which are under consideration for appropriate action.
