
Jammu, 8 December (H.S.): A major burglary took place last mid-night in a Karyana shop situated on the Rethal–Khurad road in Dhanore Loharan, Ward No. 9 of Rajouri.
The shop belongs to Parlad Singh, son of Late Ram Singh, a resident of Dhanore Loharan. The incident occurred between the night of December 6 and the early hours of December 7 while the owner was away on duty.
Unidentified thieves broke into the shop and stole a significant quantity of items, including cash and essential goods. The stolen commodities reportedly include dry fruits (Kishmish, dates, cashew, almonds), cigarettes, Basmati rice, Desi ghee, branded ghee packs (SIFTI Ghee), and other stock items. The thieves suspected to have used pressure jack of a heavy vehicle to lift and break the shutter of the shop.
In a shocking development, a police uniform belonging to the owner’s son, a police employee, was found burnt near the shop, raising concerns of a possible mischief.
Police have registered an FIR in the matter, and an investigation has been launched. A team has been deputed to examine the spot, collect evidence, and identify the culprits involved.
