Kolkata, 30 December (H.S.): The body of a bus employee was found hanging inside a bus parked at the bus stand near Panskura station in Tamluk in East Medinipur district.

As per information, the bus, which operates on the Panskura-Bardhaman route, is parked at the bus stand overnight and departs for Bardhaman every morning at 4:15 AM. Early Tuesday morning, before the bus's scheduled departure, the body of the bus helper was discovered hanging inside the vehicle.

The deceased has been identified as 42-year-old Sheikh Miraj, a resident of Ullampur area under Goghat police station in Hooghly district. His body was found hanging from a noose inside the bus.

The circumstances surrounding his death are not yet clear. On information, the police from Panskura police station arrived at the scene, recovered the body, and launched an investigation. The deceased's family has been informed of the incident.

The police are investigating whether it was a suicide or a murder. The exact cause of death will only be revealed after the post-mortem report is available.
