Vijay Vows To Stand For Fans At Grand Jana Nayagan Audio Launch

Chennai, 28 December (H.S.) : Actor-politician Vijay made an emotional declaration at the grand audio launch of his upcoming film Jana Nayagan, stating that he has decided to give up his cinematic career to stand up for the fans who have given him everything.

Addressing a massive crowd of nearly one lakh people at the Bukit Jalil Stadium on Saturday, the Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam president emphasized that while he initially entered the industry thinking he was building a small sand house, his supporters transformed it into a palace and a fort. He noted that the term kottai or fort symbolizes both his bastion and the seat of power at Fort St George, signaling his serious political intent.

The event, which entered the Malaysian Book of Records for the largest audience at such a gathering, served as a cinematic farewell for the superstar. Vijay thanked the Malaysian Tamil diaspora for their immense support and remarked that a strong enemy is necessary to become stronger in life.

He urged his followers to be ready for the year 2026, asserting that history would repeat itself for the welfare of the people. Despite a strict no-politics directive from the local police, the atmosphere remained charged with anticipation for his future political journey.

Prominent figures from the film industry, including music director Anirudh Ravichander and veteran actor Nasser, shared emotional tributes during the five-hour extravaganza. Nasser tearfully recalled Vijay’s personal kindness and urged him to reconsider his retirement from the screen.

Co-star Pooja Hegde praised his professional humility, while directors Atlee, Nelson, and Lokesh Kanagaraj shared their experiences working with the actor. Jana Nayagan is scheduled for a worldwide release on January 9, 2026, coinciding with the Pongal festival, marking the end of a legendary era in Tamil cinema.
