28 Dec (HS): The City Congress Committee observed the 140th foundation day of
the Indian National Congress led by City president Fuzail Hashmi at Anand
Bhawan to pay homage to the martyrs of freedom struggle. The Deputy Leader
opposition, Rajya Sabha, Pramod Tiwari has asked the partymen to remember its
glorious past and face the present challenges before the nation.
He
said some parties were attempting to malign the legacy of the Congress and
facts were presented in distorted form to mislead the people. Tiwari called
upon the partymen to bring back the glory of the 140th year old party. He
praised the role of Congress in shaping India into a modern democratic and
secular Nation based on the rule of law, equality of opportunity and
guaranteeing social, economic and political justice to all Citizens. He also
said that the Congress affirmed its commitment to the ideal of the founding
fathers and the galaxy of leaders.
The
CLP leader Aradhna Mishra Mona said the party was passing through a challenging
period and so there was greater responsibility of each party man. Both Tiwari
and Mona along with Congressmen took a round in Anand Bhavan and visited the
room upstairs where the first CWC meeting was held with Mahatma Gandhi, Nehru,
Patel and other top leaders.They paid homage to departed leaders of freedom
struggle. The City Congress felicitated them by presenting Shawls and garlands.
The City Congress president Hashmi also unfurled the party flag in the party
office.
Later
a seminar was being organised by the City Congress and legal department jointly
at Allenganj to mark the foundation day of INC. Ex.MLA Vijay Prakash, Sudhakar
Tiwari, Kishore Varshney, Harikesh Tripathi, Mukund Tiwari, Sanjay Tiwari,
Taslimuddin, Shekhar Bahuguna, Parvej Siddiqui, Arshad Ali, Raghunath Dwivedi, Anoop
Tripathi ,Ram Manorath Saroj, Afrooz Ahmed, Harishchandra Dubey , Nayan kushwaha,
Pradeep Dwivedi, Rakesh Srivastava, Ishtiyaq Ahmad, Rajkumar Shukla, Ahmadulla,
Avinash Verma, Shahnawaz Qureshi, Pratima Tripathi ,Nasreen Bano, Naaz Khan,
Vinay Pandey and others were present.
