Chennai, 27 December (H.S.) : Chief Minister M K Stalin on Saturday asserted that the Dravidian model government has earned a strong reputation for its governance and transformative welfare schemes, even among those who did not vote for the DMK.

Addressing a government function at Malappambadi, the Chief Minister stated that his administration is dedicated to the overall development of every district and every family in Tamil Nadu. He highlighted flagship initiatives such as the CM’s Breakfast Scheme and the 'Naan Mudhalvan' skill development program as benchmarks of progress that surpass achievements in other states.

The Chief Minister criticized the Union government, alleging that the BJP-led regime has undermined state rights through the implementation of GST and by withholding necessary funds. He claimed that while the state records impressive growth despite these challenges, the Centre continues to appoint authorities intended to hinder the elected government's work.

Stalin noted that recent central data shows Tamil Nadu grew by 11.9 percent in the 2024-25 period, leading in sectors like electronics exports and automobile manufacturing. He argued that this success has triggered a smear campaign by central ministers who spread hatred to gain political mileage elsewhere.

During his speech, Stalin also targeted the opposition AIADMK, specifically its leader Edappadi K Palaniswami, for failing to oppose the scrapping of the rural employment guarantee scheme.

He claimed that the opposition's inability to deny Tamil Nadu's accomplishments has left them helpless. The Chief Minister emphasized that his government remains open to fair criticism and makes necessary corrections, unlike the Union government which he alleged ignores public demands.

He concluded by expressing confidence that the people's continued support would ensure the formation of the Dravidian model 2.0 government in the upcoming 2026 assembly elections.
