Nagpur, 27 Dec

(HS): Late night Christmas party celebrations in a club in Nagpur ended in

clashes between two groups leading to a murder and another injured battling for

his life.

The incident

occurred outside Dabo Club near Nagpur Airport around 4 am on Friday. According

to police, trouble started inside the club when one of the accused, Mehul

Rahate, asked for the phone number of a woman who had come from Mumbai for the

party. The remarks triggered a heated argument. The situation appeared to

settle briefly, but flared up again one the groups stepped outside the Club.

Around 4.20 am the

accused group allegedly launched a brutal attack on Pranay Naresh Nannavare

(28), and Gaurav Brijlal Karda (34). Both suffered serious injuries and were

rushed to a hospital. Pranay succumbed to injuries during treatment. Gaurav is

in Intensive Care Unit (ICU) and his condition is stated to be critical.

Police have

registered a case against nine accused. Further investigation is in progress

based on CCTV footage and involvement of others in the incident.
