Noida,

27 Dec (HS): A class 10 girl committed suicide just hours after being

questioned by her instructors and principal about the possible use of

artificial intelligence during her pre-board exams, police said on Saturday. The

event happened on December 23 in Greater Noida West, Uttar Pradesh. According

to the student's father's statement to police, he has three daughters who

attend the same school. He said that his eldest daughter had brought her cell

phone to school accidentally. She was caught by the invigilator, who scolded

her and notified her instructor. She was then escorted to see the principal.

The children' parents were summoned to the school. Her father said that the

instructors and principal proceeded to aggressively abuse the student and that

the teacher referred to her as careless.

On

Thursday, the girl's father filed a complaint with the police, requesting that

a FIR be made against the school's administration for alleged suicide and

mental abuse. In his complaint, he cited the class teacher Poonam Dubey,

another teacher Taapas, and the school management. The 16-year-old plunged from

her eighth-floor home earlier that day. Her father said that she was distraught

after being admonished by her instructors on December 22.

The

principal stated that the student was disciplined completely in accordance with

CBSE guidelines and was not harassed. They also informed the student that

cheating on the board exam might result in a five-year ban from writing the

test. The principal reported that the altercation with student was brief and

non-abusive. “That is the rule, and the youngster was just informed of the

repercussions,” she added. The principal also stated that parents were notified

quickly and were at school within 10 to 15 minutes. As part of the inquiry,

police are confirming statements from the family, school administrators, and

witnesses while also evaluating relevant evidence, including CCTV video.
